At Art Nzo, we’re proud to have created a unique immersive selfie point for the City of Genk’s Winter Wonderland. This eye-catching installation —a larger-than-life Gift Box—combines festive charm with interactive design, offering visitors an enchanting experience to capture unforgettable moments.

The Concept

Standing as a centerpiece on the market square of Genk Wintert, the Gift Box installation invites people of all ages to step inside a dazzling world. From the outside, the bright red and white design, complete with a sculpted bow, gives the impression of a perfect holiday gift. But the true magic happens on the inside.

Once inside the Gift Box, visitors find themselves in a mesmerizing mirrored space, surrounded by countless twinkling lights. The reflective mirrors create an infinite illusion, making this a perfect selfie spot. It’s not just about photos—it’s about sharing a moment of joy and wonder during the holiday season.

The Making Of

The project required a meticulous approach:

• Robust Structure: A strong metal framework provided the base to ensure stability and longevity in the winter setting. This structure was provided by a native innovation known as Skellet, a lightweight steel structure system.
• Exterior Finish: Large panels were mounted for a sturdy, strong weather proof box. These were then provided with red and white vinyl films for a clean, festive aesthetic.
• Sculpted Bow: A custom-designed white bow added the finishing touch to the giant gift, enhancing its visual impact. This of course was 3D-printed by our Massivit printer and finished by our skilled artisans.
• Immersive Interior: Inside, we installed mirrored walls and a network of warm string lights to create a stunning reflective effect that transforms the space into a glowing wonderland. This final touch gives the box a magical allure that can help you but take pictures of yourself.

The Gift Box is more than just a structure—it’s an experience. Designed as a selfie point, it naturally draws in crowds, encouraging visitors to engage, share, and celebrate. It reflects the festive spirit of Winter Wonderland while providing a modern, interactive addition to the city’s holiday programming.
